Make a day of it, parking is free and the carvery lunch in Clontarf Castle is really excellent. My tip: order the half portion, great value and more than enough for most people. The roast beef is really excellent.

Did you know that there is a FREE DRAW for every fair open to subscribers to our newsletters, and a second FREE DRAW for our fans on Facebook, with chances to win complimentary tickets and gift vouchers for €25 to spend at any stand at the fair. Just subscribe to the newsletter or become a fan on Facebook and subscribe to our news feeds, and you will be invited to enter the free draw every time.

Clontarf Castle is on Castle Avenue, connecting the Howth Road and Clontarf Road. Coming from the city centre (10 minute drive), just follow the road signs for Howth, the fair will be signposted from Fairview and from Collins Avenue. Plenty of parking. Public transport: Bus no. 130 from Middle Abbey Street stops right outside, and runs every 20 minutes.
