The Village at Lyons

Visit the most romantic and beautiful setting for an antiques fair: the Village at Lyons is a restored historic village on the banks of the Grand Canal, located along the scenic towpath at Aylmers Bridge and Lyons Demesne in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, an oasis of peace just minutes from Dublin city, you will enjoy browsing for antiques and curios in this most appropriate setting.

The fair offers antique and vintage furniture and interior decor, fine art, vintage kitchen and tableware, collectors items including rare books and vintage memorabilia, antique and vintage jewellery, plus a small selection of vintage fashion and accessories. Plan to spend the afternoon hours browsing the fair, which takes place in the Mill Room within  sight and sound of the millrace;  enjoying a gourmet dining in the award-winning Serre restaurant or more casual lunch or afternoon tea and cakes in the pretty courtyard cafe nestled below the dovecote; and exploring the village and surroundings, with a relaxing walk  along the pristine waters of the Grand Canal. If this sounds idyllic, it really is.

Just 20mins from Dublin City Centre. Take the N7 out of the City Centre. Take exit number 4  for Rathcoole / Newcastle.  Drive through Newcastle Village. Take the 3rd turn on the right (1st right turn is for Lucan and 2nd is for Celbridge). Follow the road for about 1.5 miles. Just before a hump backed bridge you’ll see large cream gates on your left with 2 lions on the gatepost. This is The Village at Lyons.

The Village at Lyons

Here at Antiques Fairs/Vintage Ireland we are always on the look-out for interesting venues that will add to your enjoyment of our events. The Village at Lyons, a restored historic village on the banks of the Grand Canal, offers everything you could wish for in a day out: historic buildings that have been meticulously restored, an idyllic rural setting, lovely canal-side walks, and yet only thirty minutes, quite literally, from the centre of Dublin (and only five minutes from either the M7 or the M4, close to Newbridge village). Come for the day or for the afternoon: the Canal Cafe serves light lunch and delicious homemade cakes for afternoon tea, and will even pack a picnic for you to eat along the canal, while the La Serre restaurant serves fine food in the glorious setting of the Turner designed conservatory, or (weather permitting) in the pretty inner courtyard (reservations telephone 01 6303500).
